The UNESCO Chair in Human Development and Culture of Peace contributes to the educational activities of the Master’s Degree Course in Pedagogical Sciences and Education Management for Sustainable Development, promoting learning pathways aimed at developing research, critical analysis and project design competences in the fields of sustainability and human development.

Through courses such as “Research Methodology in Education and Training with Workshop”, students engage in applied research experiences that integrate theoretical reflection, empirical inquiry and direct interaction with local actors and practices.

During the 2025-2026 academic year, the course project work focused on the analysis of Renewable Energy Communities (RECs) as emerging experiences of collective participation and social innovation for sustainability. Through empirical research activities and opportunities for dialogue with experts and stakeholders, students explored the role of energy communities in fostering sustainable local development processes and strengthening community capacity-building.

The learning experience was further enriched by the organisation of the seminar “Educational Challenges of Energy Sustainability”, held on 18 May 2026 as part of the Sustainable Development Festival (Festival dello Sviluppo Sostenibile). The seminar provided an important opportunity for dialogue and the exchange of practices among researchers, educators and stakeholders engaged in the energy transition.
