UNESCO Trandisciplinary Chair About
About
The UNESCO Transdisciplinary Chair in Human Development and Culture of Peace is in continuity with the principles that have characterized its history, since its establishment in 2006, enhancing the valuable experience accumulated over the years thanks to careful coordination and strengthening of a network of internal and external resources.
The Chair, respecting its function as "think tank and bridge builder", strengths the research-education-politics-society nexus of UNESCO through empirical research projects, international cooperation projects, higher education initiatives and awareness-raising events.
The Chair is particularly committed to developing transdisciplinary epistemology for renewal of strategies and policies that place human and social capital at the center and identify lifelong learning as the main lever of sustainable development.
The collaboration with several UNESCO Chairs and Networks and with international research centres is enriched to create a collaborative framework that includes civil society for the sharing of scientific knowledge and the dissemination of transdisciplinary research.
